Leaving California…
Guess where I get to go for the long weekend?! Back to my hometown to see my family and my precious 6 nieces and nephews!! (Trust me, they’re REALLY precious. I want to eat them.) Then, as if that wasn’t great enough, we’re going to Chicago to see my KISA’s brother and my bff and her hubby. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!
I will take pictures during my trip, but since it’s such a short trip with so many people to see I’m not certain when I’ll get a chance to post.
This was my outfit yesterday and inspiration. Today I’m working from home and wearing athletic shorts and a hoodie, so I’m guessing you all don’t care much about that ensemble. Oh, and in my next posting I’ll tell you why what you wear can be very important.

New Shoes!
Ok, I am obsessed with these new shoes. On Saturday my KISA and I did some birthday shopping and I went to Zara, which is one of my all-time favorite stores, and found these. I like them because San Francisco doesn’t get very warm in the summer months (as the statement goes, the coldest winter you’ll ever have is a summer in San Francisco), but the shoes still feels very summery. They’re my happy medium. And, they’re leopard print! Granted, they absolutely KILL my feet because of wear they rub…even six Band-Aids later, but they look great, right?
This is my going to sushi with friends attire.

Ordinary
Yesterday was about as ordinary as my outfit. I know I’m an interesting gal, but I’m allowed to have those kind of days, right?
My inspiration:

Sausalito
I should explain that I’ve had two friends in town this week visiting from grad school. After we drank our way through Napa, my friend Sarah (love the name) joined me in San Francisco. Yesterday I decided that it was imperative for her to see this quaint little city across the bay, called Sausalito, and give our livers a break. I have some friends that live over there and have an AMAZING view of the bay that has become a personal tourist destination. Naturally, the girl’s name is Sarah. And, Sarah didn’t care if our livers needed a break because she hadn’t been in Napa. So we drank a few bottles of wine and then did some more sightseeing on the Sausalito side of the bay.
Here is my Pinterest inspiration.

Drinking In The Sights
Today I was fortunate to have a good friend come to town and did some sightseeing this afternoon. Granted, my outfit wasn’t exactly a show stopper, but it was comfortable and practical for what we were up to. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)

Hats
You know your weekend was a whirlwind when you can’t really recall what you did two days ago. We were going about 100 miles an hour. Thankfully it was all fun stuff, but even fun stuff can be tiring.
On Saturday we had a house warming party for one of KISA’s high school classmates. I’ve had a straw hat/fedora since last summer that I really want to wear. They always look cute on other people, but I feel so self-conscious and never know what to wear it with. Well, my KISA knows this and encouraged me to wear it to the party since it was a cook-out and we’d be outdoors. I felt completely uncomfortable the entire time, but I got a lot of compliments on it, so I think I was the only one that was uncomfortable. I’m not inspired to incorporate it more into my outfits.

Work Friends!
We’re finally making more friends! Ok, so I’m kind of cheating because they are people my KISA works with, but all my work friends live down in San Jose or the valley, which is too far to hang out. So, I’ll just steal his! I’m sure he doesn’t mind.
On Friday night we did happy hour with a bunch of them and I finally got to meet most of the people he’s been talking about since starting his new job. After that we went home and he had to beg me to get back out of bed to go to another coworker’s house party (apparently I get tired after a couple drinks and no dinner). Since I was cold I decided that I had to change my attire and wear something warmer.

Safari

My view from “work” today.
I worked from home yesterday and I got to spend today in the city as well as I had a training for training. (Yes, if you reread that again it does make sense.) Since I didn’t have to ride my bike I decided to wear a Pinterinspiration with my knee-high boots with some jeans. I call it my safari attire, but I’d really never wear white on a safari. It was a great idea when I left…not so much when I was walking home with a 17.6 lb backpack in 65 degree weather. But, at least I looked good.
Since I’m cheap, I haven’t jumped on the infinity scarf train and instead just knot my regular scarves to make it look like I’m not cheap.
